"I realize now I do not fear death. I fear my daughter will not be free when I die." -- Iranian revolutionary 06/16/09

To say that the last four years have drained all hope that I live in a decent country filled with intelligent citizens headed up by a respectable government is a dramatic understatement. -- Gloomchen

If one morning I walked on top of the water across the Potomac, the headline that afternoon would read "President can't swim" -- Lyndon B Johnson

It is better to deserve honors and not have them than to have them and not to deserve them. -- Mark Twain

"I might be hopeless, but i am far from a romantic" -- Cokazz

First they came for the hackers. But I never did anything illegal with my computer, so I didn't speak up. Then they came for the pornographers. But I thought there was too much smut on the Internet anyway, so I didn't speak up. Then they came for the anonymous remailers. But a lot of nasty stuff gets sent from anon.penet.fi, so I didn't speak up. Then they came for the encryption users. But I could never figure out how to work PGP anyway, so I didn't speak up. Then they came for me. And by that time there was no one left to speak up. -- unknown

"Have you helped a jihadi reach Paradise today?"

You can have my LSD when you take it from my cold, hot, kind of warm and fuzzy, like eels dancing inside eels on the thin skin of all the windows in the world stacked on top of each other breaking in patterns of oscillating witch cackles looping backwards with lilac and lime legs opening to reveal blossoming eyes crawling towards a dying sun... hands... cold hands... cold crayons, is that skin in the crayon? -- John_Rat_Safari

Ah yes, Washington wildlife. Home of the yellow-bellied chickenhawk, whose shrill cry can be heard far and wide. And the warbling prevaricator, with its bright red plumage. Interestingly, it's the only bird with two right wings, which explains why it is doomed to extinction. Among the unusual beasts in Washington are the chrome-domed waffler, whose spots are always changing, and the wiley swine-like Politicus americanus which has a symbiotic relationship with the pin-striped weasel -- an animal that actually poops gold. There are also gaggles of inkstained wildebeest, which bleat in unison and repeat whatever they are told. Some people fondly remember the rare Monica's swallow, which hasn't been seen around here in about a decade.

"My favourite word is existentialism. I don't know what it means, but it sounds good and I try to use it as often as possible." - Spice Grrl Geri Halliwell
