Flat-sided sgian dubh

The sgian dubh is a small dagger that is an integral part of modern Scottish Highland dresswear. It is worn tucked into the stocking with only the pommel visible. The name comes from the Gaelic meaning "black knife", where "black" may refer to the usual colour of the handle of the knife. It is also suggested that "black" means secret, or hidden. This sgian is simple in design and fits perfectly in your stocking - the iron wood grip and leather wrapped sheath are flat on one side to fit and stay where it's put. Tempered high carbon steel blade with a full tang peened through the grip. These are good little daggers, not cheap decorative pieces.
