Okay, I might as well finally admit that no matter how much I love the looks of this helm, it's never going to expand to fit my nose. My head measures 23 1/2"; with a medium padded arming cap this fits me - everywhere but where the visor baps me in my (large) nose, right under the eyeslots. The OUTER circumference of the helm is 28 3/8", measured at the brow line with a tape measure leveled right under the hinge. 2.5 mm mild steel; roughly 12-13 gauge, made in Ukraine, shows some light whaps from steel fighting use but no sign of major damage or repairs. The faceplate/visor does not detach.
