Synthetic bokken (Purpleheart Armoury)

Developed by Christian Darce' of Purpleheart Armoury (famous for hickory waster
training swords) - a safe and practical alternative to hardwood bokken. These
bokken are made using a very special synthetic material that virtually eliminates
the problems and safety dangers that occur with wooden pieces (particularly the
cheap "red oak" bokken found in most martial arts catalogs). This synthetic
material is shock resistant and will not crack or splinter. Will hold it's form
through common training contact. With heavy contact it can dent or slightly bend,
but you can bend it back to it's original shape over your knee (no heat or
special tools required). Swords made from this material have been used against
wooden weapons with great success. The curvature of the blade is adjustable to
meet your personal needs.
