A Crusader topfhelm - a style of great helm worn through the 13th century. The topfhelm was one of the first attempts to protect the face with more than just a nasal extension or an extra flap on a maille coif. This style helmet continued on to become the complete head protection of the barrel helm. 18 gauge steel with an adjustable inner pleather liner and leather chinstrap. This helmet was featured in the movie "Kingdom of Heaven".
