A modern saber inspired by the M1917 Naval cutlass. Sharp and tough and an excellent choice as a cut training blade. The deeply blued 1050 high carbon steel blade has a short bevel grind, a long narrow fuller, and a short sharp clip point, adding up to a stiff strong blade capable of delivering fearsome cuts and thrusts while shrugging off abuse that would break a lesser sword. The 3/4 basket guard is steel plate with rolled edges, blued to match the blade. The grip is rosewood scales sandwiched to the tang with highly polished brass cutler's rivets. The scabbard and frog are thick black leather with polished brass fittings. Not exactly historical, but historically inspired and an excellent field and training tool.
