Windlass katzbalger

Not gonna insult your intelligence with "German landsknecht ... blah blah ... sidearm ... 16th century .. blah blah ..." etc - you know quite well what a katzbalger is, and I'm sure you recognize a really well done reproduction when you see one, too. I guess I will take this time to mention that, while you'll most usually see "katzbalger = cat gutter", a more accurate translation would be "cat fighter" - and no, that's not a reference to trying to give Fluffy a bath, it's a reference to getting in up close and personal and shredding. (Think about the mechanics of being in a shoulder-to-shoulder pike block when some suicidal lunatic manages to get in past your wall of points - you pull out your katzbalger and shred him.)

The blade is 1075 high carbon, SHARP, a distally tapers from guard to tip for balanced action. Wood grip, fluted pommel, twisted S-guard, AND (something you don't often see) - an historically correct sheath with that immediately-recognizable bulbous chape (it helps keep the sheath in your belt on a fast-draw - and, it looks like a dick (landsknect weren't known for their subtlety.) You're going to really like this one, cat fighter. Summer 2022 new from Windlass Steelcrafts.
