Main battle axe of the Danes and later the Saxons. A fearsome weapon that could hew through shields, helmets, and maille. Sharp, tempered and blackened forged steel head with polished edge, thick hardwood haft. Note that while the head is securly attached to the haft with a large rivet pin, it is not a tight form-fit like a modern woodsman's axe.
