Paul Chen/Hanwei developed the Water Song dao broadsword in response to requests from Wushu practitioners for a performance sword with a flexible blade. With an ultra-thin spring steel blade, tapering to almost paper thin at the tip, it is very light, extremely fast and "sings" quite loudly when swung. I thought the name "water song" was a bit pretentious until I heard the music of the blade. The edge is not sharpened per-se, but I've included the Water Song in the "sharp swords" section because the sword is not meant for blunt sparring - just for kata and demonstrations of skill. If I had a "musical instruments shaped like weapons" section, this sword would be listed there. Comes with an open-backed wooden scabbard with blackened steel fittings.
