Traditionally, the barong was an indispensable part of the Moro’s attire, specifically among the Tausug, Samal, and Yakan warriors of the Sulu Archipelago. The unique leaf-shaped blade makes the barong distinguishable from other Filipino weaponry. The heavy single edged blades range from 12" to 18" in length. Soiss a stylized kakatua (cockatoo) beak handle, recurved so that the the barong will not slip out of the hand of the wielder during the heat of battle. This barong is forged in the Philippines from L6 high-carbon steel for incredible slashing power, and is equipped with a brass blade bolster for durability (as were the originals). Comes with a matching leather wrapped wooden scabbard.
