Spartan xiphos / lakonia
Measurements
The Spartan army was one of the toughest on record. They devoted themselves to being the best of the best. This version of the xiphos short sword was copied from the book "The Spartan Army". The leaf shaped blade is polished high carbon steel (despite looking dark in some of the pictures above), and the grip is bronze. Scabbard is wood covered in leather. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts, who refers to this sword as a "lakonia" rather than properly calling it a xiphos.
