By the third quarter of the 14th century this type of helm, which was called a "pig-faced bascinet" by the English and a "houndskull bascinet" by the Germans, had emerged as the most popular form and could be found on battlefields all across Europe. Our new offering is from 19 gauge steel with an antiqued finish, fully wearable with an adjustable leather liner and chin strap. Makes for a great display, stage, film, or costume helmet.
