Marozzo buckler - 13 inch

Measurements
height: 13 3/8"
width: 13"
weight: 3 lb 9.6 oz

A Marozzo style "wiggly" buckler. 18ga steel with folded edges. Achille Marozzo was an Italian fencing master who published his seminal work Opera Nova in 1536. This treatise covered dagger, single sword, sword and buckler, case of swords, sword and cloak, sword and dagger, polearms, and a section on Honor, but Marozzo is best remembered as being a strong advocate of the cut and thrust sword (also known as spado di lato or side sword).

This buckler is quite strong and solid - it is made of 18ga steel, with folded edges and a riveted grip. The wave shape also greatly increases the strength of the buckler. This buckler is eminently suitable for full contact sword and rapier play.
