In the mid to late 1500's, the armored mounted warrior was still common in central and
eastern Europe. This long war axe is just the type of weapon that could be relyed upon for
a cavalryman facing an armored opponent. The shaft is long enough to make it possible to
easily strike either another man on horseback, or strike down upon an infantryman. The
small wedge shaped axehead could split armor and the extended backspike could pierce
either a helmet or a breastplate. Long wood shaft with leather grip. Made by Windlass
Steelcrafts.
