American bloom-steel knife

Bloom-steel dagger. Another frontier classic. Locally smelted in Colorado by a
blacksmith, not a cutler. Bloom surface clearly shows forge-surfaced flats.
Bolo/bowie/dirk style blade. Tempered steel. Horn handle is not original to
this blade, came from another 1800's knife of similar design.
