Conan's Father's sword

John Milius' absolutely brilliant film version of Conan The Barbarian with the amazingly muscled (but thankfully mostly silent) Arnold Schwarzenegger as the titular hero (stop sniggering, it's a real word) influenced generations of fans and hundreds of fantasy films that followed. This is the original sword in the film made by Conan's father, stolen by Thulsa Doom and his minions, and later (spoilers!) broken in The Battle of the Mounds, and used to (no, really, spoilers!) decapitate Thulsa Doom.

(just joking with the spoiler warning jokes, I'm sure you've seen the film dozens of times if not more. Oh, and Snape kills Dumbledore.)

This oficially licensed version of the Father's sword is hand-forged from 1085 high carbon steel and is tempered to a Rockwell harness of 52 for strength. It weighs in at a rather hefty 6 lbs - but hey, this is a mighty sword that will help you learn The Lessons of Conan's Father and The Riddle of Steel:

"Fire and wind come from the sky, from the gods of the sky, but Crom is your god. Crom, and he lives in the Earth. Once giants lived in the Earth, Conan, and in the darkness of chaos they fooled Crom, and they took from him the enigma of steel. Crom was angered, and the Earth shook, and fire and wind struck down these giants, and threw their bodies into the waters. But in their rage, the gods forgot the secret of steel, and left it on the battlefield. We, who found it, are just men: not gods, not giants, just men. And the secret of steel has always carried with it a mystery. You must learn its riddle, Conan, you must learn its discipline. For no one, no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts... This you can trust." [points to his sword]

Keen minds will ponder that this sword not only took father's life, but later broke in a desperate battle.

(a second hint - Thulsa Doom was also wrong - flesh is not stronger than steel.)

You can buy this high quality repro with confidence that you'll never actually use it in desperate battle - we're fans, not lunatics.
