A fantastic tameshigiri (test cutting) focused katana. The Practical Pro katana is built as an economical cutting sword for heavy targets, with an extended tsuka (15" - can't beat that for grip length!) and a long thick blade. The blade is hand-forged, high-carbon steel, differentially tempered using a traditional claying method, with a fine polish to the blade. The tsuka is wrapped with synthetic black leather for gripping surety, and is double-pegged for safety. The saya is done in a deep black lacquer with a black cotton sageo. The antiqued finish tsuba is a round kuruma style which represents the Wheel of Dharma, symbolizing the Noble Eightfold Path. The Practical Pro katana comes sharp, sharp, sharp, handle with care. (Yeah, in the Hanwei world "Practical" western swords are training blunts, and "Practical" Eastern swords are cutting sharps).
