A Crusader-era Teutonic dagger, designed by noted swordsmith Bruce Brookhart and created by Legacy Arms (formerly known as Gen2). These are very sharp, and very fuctional.
The Teutonic Knights were a German-based Roman Catholic crusading military order order formed at the end of the 12th century in Acre. They were known by their distinctive white surcoats with a black cross. After Christian forces were defeated in the Outremer, the Teutons relocated first to Transylvania and then to Prussia and became involved in campaigns against the Kingdom of Poland, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and the Novgorod Republic. As well as their feudal levies they hired many mercenaries from throughout Europe and became a naval power in the Baltic Sea. In 1410, a Polish-Lithuanian army decisively defeated the Teutonic Kinghts and broke their military power at the Battle of Grunwald (Tannenberg). The Knights continue to exist and today operates primarily as a charitable Order in Central Europe.
