Confederate cavalry saber

This is the Confederate version of the U.S. M1860 light cavalry saber. Of all the Confederate swords and sabers, this was the one that saw the most day-to-day use during the war. This hand made replica has a flexible, tempered blade that passes the British Proof Test (which includes bending to 20 degrees and springing back, wacking against anvil blocks and not breaking, and several other steel tortures). Brass guard, brown leather grip wrapped with brass wire, steel scabbard with brass furniture, ring mounts and drag. You'll find this sword listed in William Albaugh's "Confederate Edged Weapons" on page 137.
