15th century German knights wore standard "hourglass" finger gauntlets up until around 1430, when this obviously Gothic style with a longer cuff (better protection from stabs to the wrist!) became popular for a couple of decades. These are made from 16 gauge steel, and the fluting adds additional strength to these quite attractive gauntlets. They're about 17" overall from middle finger to point, and weigh 2 lb 12 oz each.
