Dragon King taotie jian longsword

The Taotie is an ancient Chinese mythological creature that dates back to the Shang dynasty (1766-1046 BC), and is sort of a gluttonous, insatiable spirit. It's a good motif for the lost-wax cast pommel and guard of this monster two-handed jian, which is over 4' long. The blade is 5160 high carbon steel that is a full 3/8" thick at the ricasso, yet the whole weapon weighs under 2 1/2 lbs. The hilt is cord-wrapped for a firm grip, and the sword is complete with a matching lacquered wood core scabbard. Both Eastern and Western longsworders will really like this extremely fuctional sharp beastie.
