Early 17th century English single-edged backsword - of a style commonly referred to as mortuary hilt, but there's not a whole lot of good reason for that except tradition. New for 2022 by Cold Steel, this is also my new favorite backsword - the fit and finish are fine, and the basket is roomy enough for large-hand (plus leather glove!) comfort. The blade is 1055, mildly patinated/antiqued and sharp as heck. If you're a basket hilt fan, this is one of the best functional sharps in it's price range.
