From my Samples, Singulars, and Somethings Completely Different collection -
This is hands-down the shapeliest SCA version zischagge I have ever seen - and it's been sitting unworn on a shelf in my workshop for over twenty years. I think it's time someone (like you!) actually got to use it. Made around 2002 by Darkwood Armory. I don't have a deep micrometer, but after 40 some years of hefting helmets I expect the bowl is 12 gauge mild. My head's 23 1/2", and this fits just fine with standard SCA padding (last two pictures are me wearing it over a 3/4" high-tech padded skull cap and padded coif.) Rock solid construction with an articulated tail. Absolutely one-of-a-kind, never padded, never chin-strapped, never used in combat. It deserves to be loved and worn!
