Alexander movie linothorax

From my Samples, Singulars, and Somethings Completely Different collection -

These costume linothorax were made by Academy Costumes for Oliver Stones's 2004 'Alexander' film. The "battle worn" one is Medium/Large adult sized, and battle worn how it was described when I acquired it. Likely used in the big Battle of Guagamela sequence, which took thousands of extras to film. My mannequin torso buddy has a 41" chest and a 34" waist and the lino fits him at the very last hole of the loop-through strap and buckles. It can go a couple of inches smaller with the straps tightened, or a couple of inches larger (and still look good) with a belt to hold it shut - or you could replace the leather straps with longer. The clean version linothorax is smaller, teen or large child sized, and is shown in these pictures held closed with a belt. They are both heavy canvas over foam, quite sturdy and durable - these aren't one-shot costumes, and indeed, I've seen others of the same production style appear in several B-movies since Alexander. Both of these have been hanging in my workshop unused and unworn since 2010 or so.

Pictures above are the battle-worn, pictures below are the teen sized. Yes, the helmet is also from the movie (but not available).
