When you think about morions, the first one that comes to mind is the high-comb style made famous by Spanish conquistadores in the New World, but this low-comb style with ear tabs was a lot more popular in continental Europe, particularly with heavily armored pikemen who wore them day in and day out for long campaigns and guard postings. 18 gauge mild steel with internal padding, ear-protecting chinstraps, anbd a really magnificent plume holder.
