The German Landsknecht had his katzbalger, the Swiss landsknecht had his baselard short sword. These were superb close combat weapons: fast, light, and capable of both good cuts and effective thrusts. The Swiss were excellent mercenaries, and the baselard saw use throughout much of Europe. Comes complete with a utility knife and skewer for the various needs of any campaign. The scabbard accommodate the short sword, knife and skewer. All blades made from high carbon steel. Production was discontinued in September 2009, only a handful are available in this last-chance sudden-death-overtime sale.
