steel thickness: 18ga
weight: 3 lb 8 oz
Museum grade/display/wearable version of the Gjermundbu helm. Based on a classic Viking helm found in a Norwegian burial mound circa 970, it's thought by some to be several hundred years earlier than the burial find. Found in nine fragments, the helm has been re-constructed and is now housed in the Museum of National Antiquities in Oslo. The occular provides excellent facial and nasal protection, while maille provides flexible protection to the back and sides of the neck. Crafted in 18 ga antiqued stainless steel, with display stand included. The Gjermundbu helme is also available in a living history combat grade version.
