Lionheart arming sword

The single-hand Lionheart arming sword is typical of the cruciform-hilt style of the crusading knights of Europe in the 12th and 13th centuries. The wheel pommel and leather covered wooden grip balance the 1566 high-carbon manganese steel blade perfectly. (1566 is a deep-hardening steel that works well as either differentually-tempered Japanese style blades or through-hardened European style swords.) A wood-core leather-covered scabbard completes the ensemble.
