From the Dani tribe of Irian Jaya (West New Guinea), Indonesia. Utilitarian tool made from a pig femur. Handle and sheath braided with woven inner tree bark fibers and braided red and yellow orchard fibers. Wooden sticks, adz, and bone tools are some of the impliments used every day by the Dani people, many of whom are still living in the stone age. This kind of bone dagger is also used in battle.
