U.S. Vietnam-era chef's knife

length: 17"
blade: 11 3/4"
blade width: 2 5/16"
grip: 5 1/2"
weight: 1 lb

Not one of those "frou-frou" French chef's knives, this is a serious piece of steel that has been re-tempered along the spine to soften the too-brittle-as-issued steel. The edge is quite hard and keen. The blade spine is a full 1/4" thick at the base.
