Fascine brush knife, of the type used in America from the Revolutionary War through the Civil War. Sharp inner-curved blade, socket shaft, ergonomic grip. Blade markings: "REGd NO 528988", unidentified crossed somethings, "Whitehouse Bro*** Cann*", and a stylized Colonial house with picket fence that says "Register** ****" underneath it. I have been unable to trace and fully identify the markings - Whitehouse Bros is the most probable guess, but I have not found lisitings of that knife/cutlery maker online or in knife and tool identification resources.
