manufacturer: Mountcastle PTY Ltd, Queensland, Australia
Leather-covered pith helmet, manufactured in Australia in the early or mid 1900's.
Manufacturer's address on label inside, with three previous owner/wearer's
names written: S.K. Godfrey; Templeton; and then another weird word with
non-English lettering.
Leather chinstrap, liner band complete, top knob unscrews
for replacement with dress spike, attachment marks from a missing badge on the front.
Overall in excellent condition.
identified as a 1970's Queensland police helmet by the purchaser
size: 6 5/8
I went a bit
crazy one year, buying pith helmets so I'd have one to wear in the hot
Texas summers. This helmet was part of that mania. Funny thing is, I almost
never wear hats.
