Boa shortsword

This nasty little brute is from the Congo Basin area, home to the Azande and Boa people. It's most likely from the latter, meaning that yes indeed, this is a Genuine (wait for it) ... Boa Knife.
Interesting incised patterns on blade. Handle is wood, covered with wire wrap. Some minor edge nicks repaired during it's working life - nice to know this weapon has been used. Came to me from England, who knows where else it's been. Most likely mid 1800's.
