National weapon of Ceylon, or as it's known today, Sri Lanka. Just think, if
this sword wasn't in my collection some Tamil Tiger Rebel could be
threatening Arthur C. Clarke with it at this very moment. Crude blade, but
in overall style of grip and guard this one's a dead ringer for another one
I have that's dated 1768 (I wish folks would always stap date of manufacture
on the blades as the Dutch East India Company did with their trade blades -
that would make the life of an antiques collector so much easier!)

Hand hammered blade with nice solid black brown patina, minor pitting. The
poor hilt demon lost it's lower jaw at some point, may not have been fed for
over 200 years.
