German short WWI bayonet with scabbard. Wingen jr. pommel with bird's eye rivet. Horn grips. Bayonet ring removed at time of issue. Thick 1/4" spine to the blade which is one of the uncommon versions without the sawback spine (this is original, not a reground and reissues sawtooth). This bayonet was the precursor to the Nazi Police "eagle-head" dress dagger. Marked with king and knight's head symbols of Weyersberg, Kirschbaum, & Cie (1883-1999).
