Measurements (one cutlass)
Pair of training cutlass/sabers, circa 1870. Identified from illustrations in
equipment and training manuals of the era, I've never seen any other examples in
photographs, museums, or collections. Single fullered blade with rounded tip and
1mm edge. Has some spring and flex to the blade, but is quite tough and robust.
Grip is wood, basket hilt is blackened steel. These swords are in
excellent condition for their age and intended purpose - no cuts or nicks in the
blade edges at all.
