Spanish briquet

Spanish briquet

length: 32.5"
blade: 27.5"
blade width: 1.1"
handle: 5.0"
guard: 4.5"

Standard style infantry briquet used throughout Europe from the late 1700's to the early 1900's. This one is most likely from the later end of that range. A nice sturdy and functional blade, marked "Artilleria - Fabrica de Toledo" and "5148". Scabbard is numbered "1320". This sword is from the days when Toledo steel indicated servicable quality, not tourist junk as has been the case since the mid 1900's.
